The Indian state of Goa is known for its beaches and religious sites. Its principal sector is tourism, which is primarily centred on Goa’s coastal areas, with little tourist activity inland.

In the winter, predominantly European tourists visit Goa, whereas the summer and monsoon seasons attract a large number of Indian visitors. In 2011, Goa received 2.29 percent of all foreign visitor arrivals in India. This little state is located on India’s west coast, between Maharashtra and Karnataka, and is best known to the rest of the world as a former Portuguese enclave on Indian land. As a result, tourism is the lifeblood of Goa’s economy.

The Basilica of Bom Jesus, Fort Aguada, a wax museum on Indian culture, and a heritage museum are all popular tourist destinations. UNESCO has designated Goa’s churches and convents as a World Heritage Site.

As of 2013, Goa was the go-to party destination for Indian and foreign travellers with minimal funds, particularly Britons. The state hoped that by making modifications, it would be able to attract a more affluent populace.

Delta Corp Limited claimed to have opened India’s first casino game training center in Goa on November 24, 2017.
